Love, explained

My pupils dilate
and hear rate also increases
my brain starts producing chemicals
called dopamine and adrenaline,
among many others

Maybe it means I am in love,
I long for companionship,
not just anyone will do
but only you
I never told you that.
so in time, all this goes away
along with the bliss it brought

some years later,
in a scientific experiment
The physical and chemical changes
are induced in me

this time I don't feel any longing
the short term memory loss is also gone
The bliss came back though, momentarily
as if to remind me,
that it doesn't feel as good
without the pain and suffering.
